OpenAI and Microsoft have made some impressive announcements about AI in the past few days. GPT-4o advances the collaboration between AI and human, enabling AI to have real-time voice conversations with humans and switch languages easily.
Microsoft also demonstrated their progress with GPT-4o in making AI capable of interacting and seeing what we are doing on our computer like with real eyes (see the link of the Minecraft video below).
Microsoft announced Copilot+PC, which adds a new processor inside computers for AI, the NPU (Neural Processor Unit). This will allow AI to work without an internet connection or the use of the GPU as it is required now (you can read my article about Whisper to see how GPU is used for audio transcription).
AI is everywhere in Microsoft’s product roadmap. Soon, we will be able to create Copilots inside SharePoint, and we will have new extensions for Microsoft 365 Copilots. Copilot is coming to Onedrive this summer, etc…

Finally, yesterday, they announced Copilot for Teams, which will launch this year. Until now, Copilot was for individuals, but with this new product, Copilot will be able to assist a team, or even an organization, for example by acting as a project manager.
I’m amazed to see how AI is becoming more and more helpful in our daily lives.
